Your own account and card, receipts snapped at the till and filed even at sea, and your payslips and contract on your iPhone.

SeaPay® Me gives captains and crew a personal account with dedicated IBANs and cards, from €25 a month. SeaPay ReceiptKeeper for iPhone, coming to the App Store, sends the receipts you snap on board to seapay.network to be read, files them with your company and matches each to the card payment it belongs to, even at sea.

An account for yacht crew, with IBANs and cards

SeaPay® Me is for seafarers, crew and vessel owners: an account and a card that work in every port. It comes with dedicated IBANs, virtual and physical cards, additional family accounts, low-cost international transfers, salary accounts and professional support, from €25 a month. The SeaPay® Metal Debit Card comes with Priority Pass, giving access to more than 1,300 airport lounges worldwide, and health cover for cardholders.

SeaPay is not a bank. Accounts and financial services are provided by PRIVAT 3 MONEY Ltd., authorised and regulated by the FCA as an Electronic Money Institution (FRN 900989). A receipt app for yacht crew that works at sea

Snap a receipt and SeaPay ReceiptKeeper does the rest. The camera finds the edges of the paper and squares it up. Only after you agree, seapay.network reads the supplier, date, total, VAT and lines with Anthropic's Claude. The receipt is filed with your company, picture attached, and matched to the card payment it belongs to.

No signal? Snap anyway. Receipts wait on your iPhone and go by themselves when you're back in range. If your role may see the company's bank, the home shows how many card payments still have no receipt.

ReceiptKeeper is free and is coming to the App Store for iPhone (iOS 17 or later). There is nothing to set up in the app: a manager of your yacht invites you from seapay.network, and you sign in with that account.

Yacht crew payslips, contracts and certificates

On seapay.network, a crew member's role shows their own payslips, contracts and certificates. When your management company runs payroll in SeaPay Workstation, you see your payslips and contract in ReceiptKeeper.

Every SeaPay payslip carries a signed QR code. Scan it and SeaPay's verifier checks the signature in your browser, with nothing about the document uploaded. A payslip's signed summary covers employer, employee, pay period, gross pay, net pay and employer cost.

Crew employed through SeaPay payroll companies have their salaries, taxes and social security handled. This is general information, not tax or legal advice.

Crew cards and APA for captains

On seapay.network, the captain's role covers the vessel's budget, crew and documents.

Companies can order SeaPay® Visa Business cards for crew members, issued by Cornèr Banca SA, Lugano, and the SeaPay® Pre-paid Card for crew spending on board and ashore. SeaPay® Carte Bordeaux brings credit cards for APA management and the day-to-day running of the yacht, for the people who operate it, port to port. Its terms are agreed with your personal manager.

Questions

Asked and answered.

How does a yacht crew get paid?

Under the Maritime Labour Convention, 2006, seafarers must be paid for their work regularly and in full, in line with their employment agreements. With some exceptions, the convention applies to ships ordinarily engaged in commercial activities. Each state that has ratified it must require that seafarers on ships flying its flag are paid at no greater than monthly intervals and given a monthly account of what is due and paid. Crew employed through a SeaPay payroll company get a signed payslip. This is general information, not legal advice.

Do yacht crew pay tax?

It depends on where you are resident and on each country's rules, so check with a tax adviser. In the UK, HMRC's Seafarers' Earnings Deduction is available to employees who are UK resident, or resident in an EU or EEA state, who perform all or most of their duties on a ship and have worked outside the UK long enough to qualify, usually a minimum of 365 days. Work on offshore installations does not count. This is general information, not tax advice.

Which is the best account for yacht crew?

The one that fits where you are paid and where you spend. SeaPay® Me has dedicated IBANs, virtual and physical cards, salary accounts, additional family accounts and low-cost international transfers, from €25 a month. It is an electronic money account provided by PRIVAT 3 MONEY Ltd., not a bank account, and electronic money is not covered by the FSCS.

Does ReceiptKeeper work offline at sea?

Yes. No signal? Snap anyway: receipts wait on your iPhone and go by themselves when you're back in range. If one can't be sent, the line above the tabs says so, with Try again.

Where can crew find their payslips and certificates?

Sign in on seapay.network and your role shows your own payslips, contracts and certificates. When your management company runs payroll in SeaPay Workstation, your payslips and contract also appear in SeaPay ReceiptKeeper. Every SeaPay payslip carries a signed QR code that anyone can check in the browser.

Which SeaPay app do I need as crew?

SeaPay ReceiptKeeper for receipts, payslips and your contract, coming to the App Store for iPhone (iOS 17 or later). Use the SeaPay® app for your own account and card on iPhone and Android. ReceiptKeeper is free: a manager of your yacht invites you from seapay.network.
